All new orders include, at no extra charge, a pdf electronic proof for your approval.
TYPESETTING & PROOFS
Please review your proof carefully, checking very closely for spelling, omissions, dates, names or other errors.
--If OK, please reply back that your plaque proof is error-free and OK TO PRODUCE
--If Errors have be been found, please reply back to us CHANGES NEEDED & indicate what corrects are needed. We will send you a new proof for you to approve.
***Please let us know if proof is OK as soon as possible to avoid production delays.
NOTE: Please do not be concerned about the size or shape and distance between name plates shown on the proof---it is approximate and for proofing purposes only. Our professional typesetters and designers will accurately & properly position your text on the award, using the exact product dimensions per you order.
** WE URGE YOU TO CHECK ALL SPELLING & INFO CAREFULLY FOR ERRORS, OMISSIONS, ETC. ONCE YOU APPROVE THE PROOF, WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ERRORS OR MISTAKES. THOROUGH PROOFING IS VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise noted in writing by Perpetual Plaques .com, standard typesetting and one set of minor alterations/changes (and corresponding pdf proofs) are included in the price shown or quoted. After one set of standard typesetting and changes have been completed, additional typesetting/design/proofing charges for further typesetting and alterations may apply. If typesetting/design/proofing services are determined by us to be beyond standard in nature, additional typesetting charges may apply . Once you approve the proof, you are OK'ing the wording as is & are authorizing us to produce your plaque as per the proof you approved. Any products that have to be re-ordered due to customer error are the responsibility of the customer. We do, however, offer a 10% courtesy discount for any plaque that has to be remanufactured due to customer error. If an error occurs due to a mistake we made, we will remediate the error at our cost. If we produce any plate(s) with errors, we will send you the corrected replacement plate(s). Shipping methods for replacement items are at the discretion of PerpetualPlaques.com. Perpetualplaques.com is only responsible for the replacement cost of our product.
Custom Orders:
All custom orders under $2,500 are subject to a prepayment at the time the order is placed unless otherwise specified. For orders over $2,500 please contact us for prepayment required based on the nature of your job. If a deposit is taken to commence an order, the remaining balance is due and payable immediately upon delivery of the product. Custom plaque order production times are estimated at the time of order (typically approx six weeks): actual production times may vary based on the complexity of the design, as well as material availability, payment, production issues or schedules or circumstances beyond our control.
Artwork Policy:
All artwork, such as logos, must be 1 color line art (no screens or tints) in a vector format (.EPS or .AI). All elements within these files (such as placed graphics or logos) must also be vector line art with all fonts outlined. Vector format files can be created using programs such as Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. Please note: JPG, PDF, BMP, GIF, TXT, PNG, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, & Powerpoint files, as well as logos copied directly from a website cannot be properly engraved & and cannot be used. These formats are usually not compatible with the engraving process, and quality issues such as image distortion can occur It is important to note that you cannot simply rename a file to .AI or .EPS -- this changes the name but does not convert the file format to vector.
NOTE: If you don't have the proper logo format, we can still use your logo or artwork Please send the logo file that you do have —our art department can usually convert the file for a nominal one-time conversion fee. (Most simple logo conversions cost $35, however more complicated logos can cost slightly more. We will advise you if your logo requires a higher conversion cost before proceding.)-- This is a one-time charge and is only required if your artwork is not in the required format. If you order more than one item, but with the same logo, you will only be charged one logo conversion fee. ***** NOTE: Our customer service department will contact you first before we perform any artwork conversion to your logo.
Cancellation Policy:
As most of our products are custom or personalized in nature, once we begin your job, we may not be able to cancel your order without charge. Charges will be based at the point we are on the production process. If you must cancel an order you just placed, please contact us BY EMAIL ONLY at customer service@perpetualplaques.com as soon as possible. This is the only way we can try to cancel or stop the production process of your job. Credit card processing fees may apply to all cancelled orders or returned items, as well as a 25% re-stocking fee. All returned items must be returned in original packaging and must be received by us in undamaged & saleable condition. Damaged items or items that have been used will not be accepted for return. Any personalized or engraved items are not returnable. Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs, including adequate insurance. If parts or other materials were ordered by us prior to production and the order is cancelled, a re-stocking fee may apply if we can restock them. If your job is in the production process, you will be responsible for any setups or work performed up to the point of cancellation (including any typesetting that has been started and proofs). We will do our best to cancel your job without any cost to you, but as we strive produce your job quickly, your job may be completed prior to your request (in which case, it will not be subject to cancellation.) All custom orders in-production will be charged for all setups, materials used and all work performed (at an amount determined by Recognition and Awards, Inc). up to the point in production where we receive a request for cancellation. All completed custom jobs will be not subject to cancellation.
Misc:
Shipping: Most of our shipments will be made by Fedex or UPS. The size, weight, cost & destination are factors as to which service we decide to use. In some instances, we may elect to ship by other methods more appropriate to the size or weight of your product. Additional costs may apply to shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. We may contact you after you place an order on our site if these additional shipping costs and/or policies apply to your order.
International Shipments: Additional shipping & handling costs (tarrifs, taxes, etc) may apply to international orders and orders shipped outside the US. Customer is responsible for ALL international tarifs, taxes, additional costs & fees that apply to your shipment. All international shipments must be charged directly to your UPS or FEDEX shipping account number (or an authorized 3rd party account). International shipments can also experience delays in delivery due to customs, carrier issues, or local freight forwarding issues (strikes, weather, etc). We cannot be responsible for these delays as these are beyond our control. Please contact us to discuss shipping options. Customer is responsible for any unforeseen additional shipping costs apply to your international shipment.
Production Times: While we strive to adhere to promised produciton times, material availability, shipping delays, receipt of payment or circumstances beyond our control can affect producion times.
Installation: Unless otherwise specified in writing, mounting and installation of all plaques are the responsibility & liabitiy of the customer and/or end user. As all mounting location have unique characteristics, the customer is responsible for choosing the proper mounting method and proper hardware required based on the wall type, plaque size and weight, location and any other factors that relate to an safe and secure plaque installation. We recommend that you consult a professional installer if you have any concerns regarding the safe and proper mounting of your plaque. We cannot be respoonsible for any issues that occur due to improper installation.
Logos: Most logos will reproduce quite well. We will do our best to image you logo exactly, but laser engravers and color printing methods do have their limitations with fine detail, pms/color matching, etc. Engraving detailed logos or multiple logos may incur extra cost. We willl contact you with any concerns.
Materials: Wood, being a product of nature, can and does vary from lot to lot. This adds to the beauty and uniqueness of every product we create. We strive to have the photos shown on Perpetual plaques .com accurately represent our fine products, however, due to circumstances such as photo quality, photo lighting, differences in the way different monitors portray colors, minor occasional design changes or material changes by our suppliers, natural tone, minor material variations and grain variations in our natural wood products, the age of the wood, and variances in the way all woods accepts stains, differences between the photo and the actual product may occur. Slight variations between individual plaques in multiple plaque orders may occur. In addition, natural tone variations, grain variations and acceptance of stains can vary in all wood products and differences between the samples and the actual product may occur.
Damaged products/missing items: If a product is received in damaged condition due to shipping or otherwise, we will repair or replace the damaged item. Damage must be reported to us in writing within 3 business days of receipt. Liability is limited only to repair or replacement of the plaque itself. Customer is responsible for the safe and proper installation of this plaque based on the type of wall, the weight of the product and the area in which it is installed. Unless otherwise stated in writing, our products are designed for installation in normal temperature-controlled indoor environments. We are not responsible of any damage(s) that occurs to walls, plaque or other items due to customer installation. If any part(s) of a plaque or item in a shipment is incomplete or missing, we will, at our expense, send you the necessary piece(s) to complete the order.
General Liability: We are responsible only for the actual product itself and cannot be responsible for any other expenses related to or caused by any damaged or missing items, any delivery-related issues that are beyond our control or our product's performance or any issues, costs or any other expenses or circumstances that might arise relating to the presentation of our products at events, such as, but not limited to, trade shows, award ceremonies or other events. Client is soley responsible for proper and safe installation of the product. For best results and safe installations, we always recommend having our product installed by qualified professionals.
